Leave Those Kids Alone is now ultrasonik
Why is Leave Those Kids Alone now called ultrasonik?
ultrasonik was introduced in May 2025 as the new band name that our original songs and album – Mach One – would be released under. The new name allows us to form our own identity, tied to our original music (which is the ultimate goal of every songwriting musician) rather than a name which references classic rock or more directly, a certain brick-walled English band…
It has no impact on our passion for classic rock or the songs that we will continue to play in the future. We look forward to adding more originals to our setlists (as we couldn’t be prouder of Mach One), but also more great classic rock covers, and rock hits from any era! We’re fans just like you!
But what about Leave Those Kids Alone? I love that name!
We do too! We love everything about what Leave Those Kids Alone was able to accomplish in 8 incredible years of performing as a classic rock tribute band across Windsor-Essex, metro Detroit, throughout Ontario, Michigan and as far away as Kentucky, Ohio and New York. In 2018, Alex and Addi certainly were “kids” and the name fit properly for so long.
In 2025, Alex, Addi, Luca and Louis are performing, songwriting and recording artists and ultrasonik is befitting of that. This summer was the “Graduating Tour” for Leave Those Kids Alone, with a full name changeover planned at the end of the gigging season. With Louis stepping away (see below), the timing is right to do so now.
So… is that it for Leave Those Kids Alone?
No! We’ve got a live album which is currently in production right now. We’re going to fit as much as we can onto a main release (72 minutes) and then continue to add songs for digital release. You’ll once again be asking Siri and Alexa to play “Leave Those Kids Alone…”. These recordings were made at various shows throughout this summer’s “tour” and you are going to be blown away with what 32 independent track recording sounds like! We’ll stitch the mixed and mastered audio on video clips from the actual performances where it was recorded and look forward to reminiscing on the incredible summer that the Graduating Tour turned out to be!
And, remember the famous band logo t-shirt? It’s back!!! This design was a massive hit and we’d often hear “this is what I wear to concerts!” We hope you’ll celebrate your love and support for Leave Those Kids Alone with one of these t-shirts (and an ultrasonik t-shirt too!) for years to come. Where’s Louis?
Louis has stepped away from the band. He’s a university student studying engineering and is laser-focused on excellence, just like he was in his role with Leave Those Kids Alone! With co-op opportunities this summer and the demands of school only set to increase, he has made this difficult decision.
We wholeheartedly support him and he will always be welcome on our stage. He is more than a friend, he’s a bandmate. Forever.
Will ultrasonik be getting a new keyboard player?
The answer to that question will ultimately find us. We are open to both possibilities: we’re ready and capable of continuing as a trio, but we are open to a new keyboard player as well. In a city and region of 400k, you’d be surprised how few teenagers are ‘band-ready’. They are difficult to find, if they exist at all. So if you know a fellow unicorn, let us know.
That person, if it happens, will never be “Louis’s replacement”, in fairness and respect to both individuals.
When is the next ultrasonik show?
You can find our performance schedule here. We’ve had no interruption to our rehearsal and performance routine and look forward to playing as much as we can, year round.
Will it be live streamed?
Yes! We will always make every effort to live stream. (Private events are the lone exception.)
I love this band and want to support you directly. What can I do?
Your Likes, Shares and Follows are all we could ever ask for. But if you’d like to support further through Patreon, donations or tips, you’ll find the links at this page.
